Washington defensive back Deshazor Everett was involved in a traffic accident that left a passenger dead, the National Football League (NFL) club announced on Friday. Everett, 29, was transferred to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash, which took place Thursday night in Loudoun County, Va.
“We were made aware of a car accident last night involving Deshazor Everett. A passenger in his vehicle was killed and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends who have lost a loved one, ”the NFL team in Washington said in a statement.
“Deshazor is currently in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. Our team has alerted the league and the office and are working with local authorities as we continue to gather more information,” a- he added.
Everett, who joined the Washington squad from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015, is in his seventh season in the league. The veteran DB has played in all 14 games this year, mostly in special teams.
