Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam have enough players for the Feb. 22 game against Thailand in the current competition AFF U23 Championship as reinforcements arrived in Cambodia.

Five other players on the squad have tested positive for
COVID-19[female[feminine day, depending on Vietnam Football Federation.

Four footballers among the reinforcements left Ho Chi Minh City for Phnom Penh by road early in the morning of February 22. They tested negative for COVID-19 upon arrival.

Meanwhile, two players who traveled by plane are expected to arrive in Phnom Penh at 4:45 p.m.

Vietnam must have at least 15 players for the next match, which kicks off at 7 p.m. in Phnom Penh.

Additionally, the team hopes the first batch of contracted footballers with COVID-19 can return once their PCR test results show they are clear of coronavirus.

After the game against Singapore on February 19, Vietnam received the bad news, when more players returned positive rapid tests. They only had 11 players, including two goalkeepers.

According to the rules of the championship, a team needs at least 13 footballers for a match./.
