Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph that he feels his team is way above expectations this season.
A very young team compared to most of the Sky Bet Championship, the Rovers have really excelled under the management of the former Middlesbrough boss and are currently in seventh place in the league table.
Ben Brereton Diaz and Tyrhys Dolan continue to be the main protagonists of the Lancashire squad, while captain Darragh Lenihan performs superbly in the center back.
This led Mowbray to admit the following when he recently reflected on what he had seen from his side so far:
“I think it’s important that we don’t put too many expectations on them right now, they just want to win the next game and see where that takes us.
“I can easily sit here after a loss and say ‘this is a young team, they give everything they have and fight with everything they have’ but some days we will lose.”

The Rovers were in great shape last time in the league as they knocked out Peterborough United with a 4-0 loss at home.
Now the Lancashire side will be looking to repeat that kind of performance this weekend as they head to Bet365 Stadium on Saturday to take on fellow play-off contenders Stoke City.
The Rovers have certainly done a lot better than many expected, especially after losing influential Adam Armstrong over the summer to Southampton.
Many players have certainly stepped up since he left and they play an attractive brand of football that can only take them to new heights.
Their defense has been as key as their offense and they certainly did well to bounce back from that potentially damaging loss at the hands of Fulham earlier this month.
Now the focus will be on playing one game at a time as they look to see where their young team can take them forward.
