Photographer accused of robbing thousands of youth football league – WPXI

HOOKSTOWN, Pa .– A professional photographer is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from families who were part of a Beaver County youth football league.

Police say Sean Watkins of East Liverpool, Ohio was hired to take pictures for the South Side Little Rams in August.

Watkins of “Sky High Photography” took the photographs and collected individual payments from families to the tune of $ 6,000, according to Todd Matijevich, who was then president of the league.

But the weeks passed and Watkins never produced the photographs.

Matijevich told Channel 11 that Watkins initially provided “excuse after excuse,” claiming he did not have access to his computers.

Eventually, the photographer stopped answering calls, so Matijevich roped up the state police.

“We had no other choice, unfortunately. It’s not what we wanted to do, but the last thing I want is for it to happen to someone else, to another organization, ”said Matijevich.

The league offered to reimburse families for the stolen funds, paying approximately $ 5,450.

“It’s hard to catch up when you’re a non-profit youth organization like we are,” he said. “This will directly affect our children. “

Watkins is now charged with theft and a warrant has been obtained against him after a police report was filed. Channel 11’s efforts to reach Watkins by phone were unsuccessful on Wednesday.
