DFS Packers-Cardinals lineups: Fantasy Football Today analysts share captains’ picks and daily lineups for TNF

Every NFL week begins with a Thursday night soccer game for most of the rest of the 2021 season, and these are our favorite lists for playing Daily Fantasy Football. The TNF Showdown Slate lets you choose from a smaller crop of players, and if your choice of cheap sleeper succeeds, you can win big in your tournaments or easily win your DFS head-to-head clashes.

Each week, I will receive Thursday night’s DFS picks from our experts and we’ll feature them below. But first, let’s preview the match and what we can expect.

Last week was a grindfest between the Browns and Broncos as to be expected once we found out Cleveland should look to Case Keenum for quarterback. This week should be a little more exciting with the Packers and Cardinals in play. But the biggest story this week that will definitely impact your Daily Fantasy Football rosters is the situation for the wide receiver from Green Bay. Before you define your DFS queues, you need to make sure that the Packers remove Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the IR. It was originally the wait, but ESPN Jeremy Fowler reports the Packers may want to wait another week and his status for tonight “doesn’t look good” at the moment.

Why is this so important? Well, the Packers will likely be without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard. Both recipients have been placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list. Adams is considered very unlikely to play. Lazard is not vaccinated, so he has already been virtually ruled out. Besides Valdes-Scantling, this could be a big game from a volume standpoint for Robert Tonyan and Randall Cobb. Keep an eye out for them, but understand that they will be popular choices for DFS ranges based on value / price. This might make them less attractive in big field tournaments.

On the flip side, Kyler Murray is the only NFL quarterback with over 100 odds in six games this season and we can expect him to make a seven against a Packers defense that allowed Washington to go up and down the field last week. Murray has spread the ball more this season than last – when DeAndre Hopkins commanded a massive target share – it just shows his better understanding of the offensive system. Hopkins enters this one with a questionable label but should play short of a pre-game setback. It is also something to watch out for. Zach Ertz will be a popular game after scoring in his Cardinals debut, but his target
