Deeside football league hosts women’s and mixed teams

As women’s football fever sweeps the country, inspired in part by the success of the Lionesses, the company behind a new five-a-side community league kicking off in Deeside is delighted to welcome mixed and women’s teams.

The Sunday 6 side league, due to start at Ty Calon in Deeside, is already proving popular with teams across the community signing up to play.

Women’s and mixed teams have always been part of the leisure league philosophy, as regional manager Ben Schumann explained: “One of the things we pride ourselves on is how well we are able to attract players from diverse backgrounds to play and this commitment to equality extends to welcoming women’s teams and mixed teams as well.”

Now more than ever, women’s teams are signing up, with Ben adding: “As long as you’re 16 or over, you can join us for the games when they start and we look forward to welcoming all of the Beth Meads and Ellen Whites to grass.”

It is not just the players who are needed for the leagues, as female referees are also welcome, and they do not need to be qualified, but they can be assured of the strictest discipline in football at 5 or 6-a-side football, anywhere. United Kingdom.

If you don’t have a team, but still want to play, you can take advantage of the new solo registration. Leisure leagues will then help you find a team.
