The X-Professional All Stars Football Club of the University of Port Harcourt emerged victorious in the first edition of the All Stars Football competition on Saturday.
The meeting which saw a huge crowd saw UNPORT X-Pros defeat Rumuomasi All Stars 1-0, at Sharks Football Club Stadium, in Port Harcourt.
Speaking to sports journalists shortly after the match, UNIPORT X-Pros coach Tamunoimama Amakiri revealed their success was down to consistency, commitment and being together for a long time. .
According to him, the players were the same players who won the NUGA games in 2004, adding that they are intact and have retained their physical form.
“Honestly our success was due to the fact that the players had been playing together for a very long time, these are the same players who won the NUGA Games in 2004, other than that the commitment was there.

Also speaking, Rumuomasi All Stars head coach Christian Eke praised his team for an impressive performance, saying that in football, if you take advantage of an opportunity, you will win the game.
