All about the new Pro Football League

The NFL season is five months away, but football returns this weekend. The United States Football League debuts on Saturday, and it’s a new professional football league with eight teams. This league is not associated with the former USFL which played in the 1980s, but has the former USFL marks. The games will be shown on multiple channels, but Fox is a media partner and one of the league’s owners.

“I am extremely passionate about football and the opportunity to work with FOX Sports and bring the USFL back in 2022 was a business worth pursuing,” said New USFL Co-Founder Brian Woods. and founder and CEO of The Spring League (TSL), said in a press release. “We look forward to providing players with a new opportunity to compete in a professional football league and to providing fans around the world with the best football viewing product possible during what is typically a time without professional football.” For the first season, all games will be played in Birmingham, Alabama. And while the game will resemble what fans see in the NFL, there will be a few changes to make things more interesting. Here’s everything you need to know about the USFL.

What are the rules?

The USFL will be like the NFL, except there will be unique rules, including the ability to make three-point conversions by completing a score from the 10-yard line. Additionally, two forward passes from behind the line of scrimmage are legal, and there will be no warp crew as a microchip will be inserted into each soccer ball and will use proprietary technology to locate the location of the ball.

The USFL playoffs and championship game will take place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. The reason for this is that Birmingham is hosting the World Games as the USFL finishes its season. The championship game will air on Fox on Sunday, July 3.
