Adelaide Olympic Football Club confirmed they are now the tenants of the new APEX football stadium, formerly known as VALO Football Center.
The rental comes after Football South Australia officially handed over the keys to the club at the Angle Park site.
The venue, which boasts the second full-size synthetic pitch in South Africa, opened in 2015 and has previously hosted Australian Cup, Women’s NPLSA, RAA NPLSA and community events.
Football SA CEO Michael Carter said he was “so happy that Adelaide Olympic is getting its own quality home”.
Adelaide Olympic chairman Stavros Parissos said he “couldn’t be prouder” of the new hire.
“From 23 junior players, without uniforms and serving drinks on a trestle table on a foreign pitch 10 years ago, to being a top club with successful MiniRoos, Juniors and Senior teams, including back-to-back champions of the Cup and now the consolidation of all our operations at APEX Football Stadium, I couldn’t be prouder,” said Mr. Parissos.
Mr Parissos added that the permanent hire would not have been possible without the support of volunteers, the SA Labor Government, MP Tom Koutsantonis, the Office of Recreation and Sport & Football South Australia.
A process has been initiated to change the name of the location on Google Maps and on all live streams.
